Even though the winters in Kelowna are WAY more manageable than winters in the rest of Canada, we do get some pretty brutal cold snaps & they always wreak havoc on my skin. 99% of the time I have some VERY oily skin. I am not exaggerating this, I notice oil creeping through my makeup within 30 minutes of putting it off & always have to blot through out the day. My skin has always been oily, I have never known what dry skin even felt like until I hit my 30's & then all of a sudden my skin became VERY temperamental to the weather or while trying new products.
In the first few days of the cold snap I decided to be proactive & really bump up my skin care routine. I had an eye on some products & the lovely girls at Sephora sent me oodles of things to try. I have always been skeptical when it came to skincare, I am not an easy sell & I don't fall for the grandiose claims that a lot of the products in the beauty world seem to shout from the rooftops. I like to be very thoughtful & intentional when it comes to spending my hard earned dollars on skin care. I research & always make sure to get samples of things that are on my radar now because as a recovering beauty shopaholic, I have always had drawers & cupboards overflowing with the latest and greatest makeup/skin care only for it to expire then get tossed in the trash, a tragedy.. I know. So, I am just going to jump right into it & share my newly found ride or dies for winter
